Renaissance Man Productions, a Fullerton based independent film production company, is currently in production on their first feature film, Once and For All. Written, directed and staring RMP founder Cory Reeder, the story follows HIM and HER, a couple, as they split up and set out to rediscover themselves as individuals.
"I'm calling this my "crime of passion" project," says Reeder, "because from the moment I conceived the idea the only way I could get it out of my head was to write it. And once I had written it, I had to make it." Shot in and around iconic Fullerton locations, the film also stars Jennifer Ross and Hollis Sherman-Pepe. Written in January 2008, principal photography was completed in May. Currently heading into pickup photography, the film is scheduled to be completed by September. In addition to Once and For All, RMP has been hired by Fullerton businessman Sean Francis to film the upcoming Spare the Air Music Festival. Beginning as the Orange County Earth Day Festival, the event has evolved to focus on the promotion of clean air and awareness of public transportation options, alternative fuels, alternative energies, and global warming. RMP's film of the event will be distributed on DVD, with the possibility to become the pilot episode of a proposed reality television show. RMP's documentaries Sociology of Me and Holey Matrimony: The State of the American Marriage are also still in production. Does the sum of the feelings friends, family, enemies and more feel about a person equal who that person really is? Says Reeder, "Sociology of Me is the story of my life, as told by everyone but me." It is scheduled to be completed in December 2008. Showcasing the American landscape and people, Holey Matrimony: The State of the American Marriage, (formerly titled Love: American Style) follows director Reeder across the country as he talks to people about the relevance of marriage, and is scheduled to be completed in the first months of 2009. No one needs to be reminded of the current state of the US economy, but even in these depressed times, Reeder has found that his small independent film company is growing. Recent graduate of Oxford Academy High School, Ramin Shakibaei, met Reeder while working on a project for his school. Interested in learning the ins-and-outs of filmmaking and getting firsthand experience working in the industry, he is currently interning with the company. Another new addition, Sarah Boros is active in the local theater and film communities. After losing her day job due to the real estate market crash, she joined with RMP as an associate producer. RMP film premier for the short TRICK
TRICK with make it’s official premier on Sunday Aug. 6th at 6:30pm at the Wilshire Auditorium on the Fullerton College campus. After tons of postproduction hours from Post Supervisor and editor Jim Reed, a new scene, score, special FX and more has been completed and will see their first public light of day. Love American Style the movie wishes our Sound Mixer best of luck and thanks for his performance on our traveling production. Ian left the production in Chicago to assist in the Cinematography of a feature currently filming in Wisconsin. Have a great time Digger, you’ll be missed.

It is with a heavy heart that we have replaced one of our traveling crewmembers due to a family loss. Charlie did some fine work on the productions during the first 3 weeks and with his return home the crew sends prayers and our condolences to him, his family and loved ones.
 In his place we welcome Brian Schmidt who will be taking over sound operation since current sound location mixer (Ian Lindl) will be leaving the production for another shoot when the production arrives in Wisconsin. The true feeling of how large the United States of America is has officially sunk in with the crew of LAS and SOM. Traveling over 6,000 miles in 18 days, shooting in 16 locations and interviewing over 30 people has kept them more than busy. So far the journey has shot in:
Mission Beach, CA Grand Canyon, AZ Monument Valley, AZ Roswell, NM Amarillo, TX Cawker City, KS Pratt, KS Tulsa, OK (SoM) Meers, OK Fort Worth, TX Austin, TX New Orleans, LA Memphis, TN Atlanta, GA (SoM) Miami Beach, FL Savannah, GA Currently the crew is en-route to their next destination of Washington DC, and then on to Philadelphia. With a day on the road everyone is appreciating a chance to get behind the wheel and watch America roll by. Others are catching up on watching DVD’s and director Cory Reeder, is busy finalizing the shooting schedule for DC. A complete list of the locations and dates the crew will crossing through your neck of the woods will be posted shortly, but for the meantime check back and hear how the shoot is going by reading crew diaries and looking at up to date photos in the media section.
